## What does earning online mean here?

You can feature products and services in a useful article, video, product review or social recommendation. Examples include sports equipment, household tools, accommodation and guided sightseeing. An affiliate link leads to the provider or retailer; a qualifying, approved result may earn commission.

Your role is to help an audience. In this model, the merchant sells and ships physical products. Your own content, audience building and technical operation still require time and money.

### Business, platform and registration

For the business model described here, start with an active business. Choose a platform, register and provide the website or social channel you plan to use.

Result: a publisher account submitted for approval

- 02PUBLISHER + ADVERTISER

### Choose products or services

Check the country, audience, commission basis and promotion rules, then apply to relevant programmes.

Result: an approved partnership

- 03PUBLISHER

### Recommendations and feed setup

Create useful content and tracked links. For an affiliate shop, import an approved feed and configure updates; as a creator, use your approved channel.

Result: a working publishing channel

- 04PLATFORM + MERCHANT

### From click to conversion

The platform records clicks from your channel that can be tracked under its rules. When a purchase or booking occurs, the merchant's tracking reports the conversion and pending commission is recorded. Processing times vary by partner.

Result: recorded commission, not yet final

- 05PLATFORM + ADVERTISER

### Validation and payment

The platform and advertiser check the conversion, purchase validity and any returns or cancellations. Commission is then approved or declined. Approved amounts are paid under the platform's own payment terms.

Result: approved or declined commission; payment according to the rules

### Review performance every month

Compare earnings, clicks and conversions. Identify your strengths, weaker topics and seasonal changes in demand and available offers.

Result: informed next steps

**Tracking has conditions.**

The tracking window, attribution rules and technical setup affect eligibility. A click alone does not earn a sales commission. Social purchases and coupon codes can only be attributed through tracking supported and configured by that programme. An active business is the basis of the model described here; accepted legal status varies by country and programme. This is a general model; your chosen programme sets the details.

## How do you start without a website?

**1. Choose a focused subject.** Write down three questions you can genuinely help with. Within gardening, for example: which watering system fits a small balcony?

**2. Explore the programmes.** Before building a whole website, check whether relevant offers exist and which publishing channels are accepted.

**3. Create a useful foundation.** Explain the topic, the selection criteria and who each solution might suit. Only claim first-hand experience when you actually have it.

**4. Apply and follow the terms.** Network and advertiser approval are not automatic. Use the correct links and disclosures on an authorised channel.

**5. Watch what happens.** Visits, outbound clicks, recorded purchases and approved commission are different metrics. They help you identify what to improve.

## Why might this suit you?

You can build on a subject you already know and introduce offers that fit your content. Referring customers to another retailer does not require buying your own stock.

Start with a manageable topic. Your first goal might be a useful guide and a better understanding of the process. Revenue is neither a prerequisite for learning nor an automatic result of it.

## How much can you earn?

Beyond traffic volume, consider how many visitors click through, how many buy, the commission basis and the approval rate. Include your work, content and running costs in the calculation.

## What makes the activity compliant?

The tax rules applicable to you and your business in your country apply. Before starting, speak to an accountant about recording income, invoicing and working with overseas partners.

Clearly disclose commercial relationships to your audience. Ensure that you have rights to use images, text and videos, and provide the privacy information required for your activities.

## Dognet, Awin or TradeTracker: where should you look?

The [Dognet publisher guide](https://affilatemarketing.eu/dognet/) the [Awin overview](https://affilatemarketing.eu/awin/) and the [TradeTracker guide](https://affilatemarketing.eu/tradetracker/) help you explore the options. Do not choose solely by network name: programme availability, audience fit and permitted promotion methods all matter.

## How can we help?

Once you have a topic in mind, we can help plan the structure, build your [affiliate website](https://affilatemarketing.eu/website-development/) and maintain it. You can join networks directly; using our services is not a requirement for joining.

## Shop, blog or creator channel?

### Product reviews

Show from first-hand experience what a product does, who it might suit and its limitations. For example, demonstrate a kitchen tool or test hiking equipment. Receiving a review sample requires a separate agreement.

### Video content

Add permitted affiliate links to a YouTube demonstration, a short household video, a styling idea or sightseeing content. Check channel approval and advertising disclosure requirements first.

### Blogs and guides

Write comparisons, buying guides or itineraries. A Rome weekend guide could include accommodation and bookable activities; a home organisation article could include a curated product selection.

Look for Dognet, Awin and TradeTracker offers that fit your country and channel. GetYourGuide's direct partner programme is another option for travel creators; it is not an affiliate network. Not every partnership requires your own shop.
